Do I really need to use a lice comb?

  • Yes you do. Even when lice and nits are dead, they do not wash out of the hair. Nits are glued onto hair with nit glue, and the lice may be still attached to the hair.

How do I clean my nit comb?

We suggest using an old toothbrush to srcub out the nits and lice that are stuck between the teeth, and then soak the comb in hot soapy water for 10 – 15 minutes. If you still see lice and nits stuck in the nit comb, use dental floss or a flosser in between each tine.

No. Nit combing is required with a professional grade nit comb, also known as a lice comb. The best nit combs have stainless steel teeth that are very close together, designed to drag out lice and nits from the hair.

  • A thorough comb-out with a professional lice comb like our LiceLogic Clear & Free Eliminator Nit Comb is an absolute must, since even dead lice and nits do not simply wash out of the hair. Lice eggs are glued into the hair with nit glue. Headlice and lice eggs always need to be removed manually.

As a school nurse, I used this and it’s worked better than any product I’ve ever used removing eggs. I will never waste my time with another lice comb again.

  2. Chantel Carroll

worked great, but it ripped out my kids hair with every stroke.

  3. Ashley

Do NOT expect this product to get them all. It wont. But it helps

  4. S. Cornelius

Pricey and works if you use it daily in conjunction with other process. I bought a total of 3 of these as they discolor easily. I did not receive a discount, nor was this product free to me. While I like the results, I do not like the performance.

  5. Dawn

    Yay!! this worked!

Seriously save a ton of money soak your kids hair in conditioner for 4 hours then run this comb through their hair behind the ears ,behind the neck and down like the letter t Then do the same thing a week later.I ended up spending a thousand dollars on treatments when all I needed was conditioner and this comb

  7. Kathleen Jacob

This comb was recommended to us by a professional “nit-picker” after an unfortunate and disgusting case of head lice. I had no issues with it ripping out my child’s hair as long as I combed through her hair first to remove tangles. We wash it after with hot soapy water and stored it in the freezer during the infestation per the instructions of the professional. I might purchase another one to keep on hand just in case!

  8. Apricity

It works much better than some of the combs I tried. It removed most of the nits, making it easier and more manageable so I didn’t have to pick out every single nits using my nails. Before this comb I had tried 3 different metal nit combs, which helped remove lice but didn’t make any dent removing the nits. I needed a comb with tighter teeth for ultra fine hair, which the LiceLogic Terminator is. As it slid over the hair shaft, I could hear small grating noise whenever it passed over a nit. I also tried a vacuum with a comb and I found that both the LiceLogic and the vacuum work just as well, and neither were more effective than the other.
